I'm sure many people ( myself included) find that stress comes with the package of being a college student. Many students might find there homework load to be stressful, but lets face it most likely that homework load isn't going to go anywhere. So perhaps instead of thinking " If i didn't have all of this homework i wouldn't be stressed", try thinking " how can i manage/ prioritize my time so that my homework load doesn't seem so overwhelming.
We all procrastinate sometimes, especially with homework which i find myself doing alot. And that procrastination leads to me stressing about how i will ever get everything done! After coming to that realization i'v discovered the best method that works for me, which is putting homework first on my to do list. As soon as I come home from class i try to complete all of my homework. That way i don't have the opportunity to put it off. I also find at this time my brain is functioning at it's best, still in "work" mode from class. The later i delay doing my homework, the less motivated i am to compete it therefor the more stressed i get. Doing your homework right away is also rewarding.
Once your homework is out of the way you feel good that you'v completed it and relieved that your have the rest of the day to yourself. So getting your homework done and over with ASAP is defiantly a productive tip i would recommend to reduce your stress. I have one more tip i would recommend, on those days that you find yourself not having alot of homework, try to get ahead and possibly do tomorrow's homework. That way you are reassured that tomorrows' work load wont be all that bad!
“What comes first, the compass or the clock? Before one can truly manage time (the clock), it is important to know where you are going, what your priorities and goals are, in which direction you are headed (the compass). Where you are headed is more important than how fast you are going. Rather than always focusing on what’s urgent, learn to focus on what is really important."
